Eastern Europe is one of our export regions. We ship Chinese new and used vehicles to Poland, Albania, Moldova, Ukraine, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina — Poland follows EU customs and VAT rules under the Common Customs Tariff, while the other markets apply their own national duties, VAT and age limits. China export clearance and the full document set are handled by us.
What are the rules for importing a car from China to Eastern Europe?
Age limit: Age rules are set nationally and change periodically: Poland applies no Union-wide limit on imported used passenger cars but enforces emission, roadworthiness and registration rules, while the other countries apply their own maximum ages for used imports. Confirm the current rule with the customs authority of your destination.
Import duty & taxes: Rates differ by country: Poland applies the EU Common Customs Tariff (10% on the CIF value for passenger cars) plus 23% import VAT; Albania, Moldova, Ukraine, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina apply their own national duty, VAT and levy regimes. Private buyers importing new battery-electric cars into the EU may face additional countervailing duties. Confirm the rate for your destination before buying.
Authority & certification: Each country clears imports through its own customs authority: Poland through the national customs administration under the Union Customs Code and the EU type-approval framework, and the other countries through their own customs and revenue services. Registration and roadworthiness are handled by the national registration authority in each market.
Our experience in this region
EZ Auto has 15–20 years in China's car export business, working from our base in Zhengzhou, Henan Province. We are not a European company and do not claim a local presence — every vehicle is sourced and inspected in China before shipment, and we arrange export clearance and the full document set. Local import clearance is arranged by the buyer or a licensed broker.
Sources: the customs and revenue authorities of the countries covered, the European Commission for the EU Common Customs Tariff, and local vehicle-import market reports. Duty, VAT and age rules change periodically — confirm current rates with the customs authority of your destination country before buying.

Can I import a used car, and which documents are needed?
Documents follow the destination country: commercial invoice and bill of lading from us, then the import permit, certificate of conformity or individual type approval, customs certificate and local registration documents. China export clearance and the pre-shipment inspection file are handled by us; local clearance is arranged by you or your broker.
How is the shipment organised, and who clears the car on arrival?
We ship new and used Chinese vehicles by sea freight, with rail or road onward where the destination is inland. We prepare the export documents and hand over each vehicle with its inspection report; import clearance in the destination country is carried out by your broker or our recommended partner, and we support the paperwork through to registration.
