China V2G standard live, fleet batteries can sell power back

The bottom line on fleet V2G is the peak-valley spread, not raw charging power. China's first virtual power plant standard is now in force, bundling EV batteries and flexible loads into one grid seller. For importers running electric van fleets, that turns a cost centre into an earning asset.

The thresholds are firm. GB/T 47241-2026 took effect on 1 September, requiring aggregated resources of at least 10 MW and 5 MW of controllable capacity. Each unit must offer 1 MW and a ramp above 3% per minute. It fixes the old problem of uneven wiring rules and operator software.

Chongqing offers the clearest incentive. Its 2026 policy pays 100 yuan per kW for new AC V2G points, 50 yuan for DC and 50 yuan for swap stations with reverse discharge, tapering 10% a year. At 30 kWh discharged daily and a 0.6 yuan spread over 300 days, one vehicle adds 5,400 yuan.

Put charge-only and bidirectional ownership side by side. A charge-only fleet treats the battery as pure expense, filling at night near 0.4 yuan per kWh. A V2G fleet pushes the same battery into the evening peak for cash, plus a one-off charger subsidy. That decides what spec you stock.

Importers should write bidirectional capability into purchase terms. Ask the supplier to confirm three things in writing: V2G and V2L support, maximum discharge power, and the OCPP version used. Without these the fleet cannot join a local virtual power plant or claim the subsidy.

Frequently asked questions

What does solid-state battery mean for Chinese vehicle exports?
Solid-state batteries promise longer range, better safety and lower weight — a key variable for NEV exports. EZ Auto tracks production progress and overseas certification fit in the News section to help buyers time model upgrades.

What to watch with ADAS features for export?
Advanced driver assistance involves local regulation and data compliance. EZ Auto recommends only the assistance levels already approved in the destination and labels feature boundaries, avoiding over-promising.

Are Chinese NEV charging standards usable overseas?
Charging connectors and voltages differ by country (e.g. CCS2 in Europe, GB/T in China). EZ Auto recommends compatible models for your market or suggests in-car adapters.

Does over-the-air (OTA) update work overseas?
OTA depends on local networks and data compliance and is restricted in some markets. EZ Auto states OTA availability at delivery and points to offline maintenance and local service channels so features don't fall short.

Does the battery warranty remain valid after export?
Warranty usually follows the vehicle and the brand's global policy, but overseas service-network coverage varies. EZ Auto explains warranty scope and cross-border limits before closing the deal to avoid mismatched expectations.
